The occupation of Wounded Knee, South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation by members of the American Indian Movement (AIM) began on February 27, 1973. The siege ended on May 8, 1973. The oral history interviews were conducted with supporters and lawyers and judges involved court cases. These oral history interviews were collected by the students of UNO History professor Dr. Michael Tate in the 1970s.
